Kevins trips in November 2010

by Kevin on 29 November 2010

November welcomes another fantastic series of amazing Nomads Fraser Island Tours over to the always gorgeous Fraser Island.

One of our prized guides Kevin departed for this particular trip on the 17th of November, to arrive back at Nomads Hervey Bay Backpackers hostel on the 19th.  Leading 4 excited groups one being affectionately referred to as ‘team Germany’, many were excited to explore the white sands of the island, even if the weather wasn’t as amazing as they hoped.

After a 40 minute barge trip, they arrived and quickly jumped in their vehicles ready for some serious four-wheel driving! Visiting such attractions as Central Station, Lake Wabby, The Maheno Wreck and Eli Creek, one of the most memorable of course was that of Lake Mckenzie. After cooling off and relaxing by it’s side, the 29 eager travellers headed for their campsite at Kgari where they cooked up a storm followed shortly after by some intense drinking games lasting way into the night.

Off the next day to Indian Head, pictures were taken and many memories were made as the gorgeous views were absorbed and enjoyed by some seriously hungover people. The group also had fun humorously giving out awards such as ‘best sunburn’, ‘fastest driver’, ‘scariest moment’, ‘worst hangover’, ‘best way to get drunk’ and ‘craziest person on the trip’.

Having spent an amazing 3 days 2 nights together on one of the most beautiful natural wonders of the world, everyone exchanged emails and the term ‘add me on facebook!’ was heard over and over again. The popular opinion of the experience – “it was f**king awesome!!!”
