Happy Valley is the most central eastern part of stunning Fraser Island. Its unique formation and combination of sand and rainforest developed over a period of more than 800.000 years. Happy Valley’s area is wealthy in native flora and fauna comparable to Central Station’s. This cool spot is great for fishing, like Eurong, and animal lovers will have a field day here with over 230 species of birds and 25 species of mammals including dingoes, echidnas and wallabies to see. So make sure to bring out your camera to snap away at the sights of that amazing wildlife! From this place, you’ll get to see Champagne Pools, Indian Head, Eli Creek, Coloured Sands and not to forget: the Maheno Wreck. But what Happy Valley is most famous for is its sightings of migrating humpback whales. You can spot these majestic animals around August and October so be sure to keep an eye out for them when you are in this area. There are some amazingly magical moments to be caught here on camera!
